Yup, I said it. Ambitious women. Even worse – how they look! Why in the 21st century is this a thing? Hang with me, I’m going to give you the truth behind how ambitious women look today, however it will be a very positive thing!
What are some words you associate with ambitious women? Would you say motivated? Dedicated? Driven? How about pushy? rude? Bitchy? How many of you consider yourselves ambitious? Do you ever feel misunderstood? There’s a good chance if you’re reading this you too are ambitious, and you associate with at least one word mentioned above, if not more.
Ambitious Women Are Rude
Say what?! Have you ever witnessed an ambitious woman in action? Have you paid attention to those around watching? What’s the reaction of the crowd? Sadly, most of these women are mistaken for rude or pushy today. When really, ambitious women are after what men have accomplished for many years. Guess what? Gone are the days where women don’t fight for what they deserve in the workplace and in life!
Ambitious Women are Afraid?
Sadly, women hold back on admitting their ambitions aloud because they’re afraid of failure. Think about the last time you asked your boss for a promotion? Oh, you haven’t? If you have, did you go in with confidence because you know the work you have put in was worth every penny you asked for? If you lacked confidence – why? Do you know that when applying for a job men are more likely than women to apply if they feel they only meet a few of the requirements (or less). Whereas women feel they cannot apply to a job if they do not meet ALL requirements. Messed up, huh?
Do Not Fear Ambition, Embrace It
If you are naturally motivated to go above and beyond and want to achieve greatness in life then go on with your bad self! Embrace everything you are and promote it in an authentic and healthy way. In my recent post here, I provide tips on how to break away from standing in the crowd and live authentically as yourself.
Ambitious Women Look This Way?
Scratch “this way”, ambitious women look a lot of different ways. I consider myself extremely ambitious and want to tackle the world. Like you, I have faced judgement, fear of failure and criticism for having dreams “too big.” Doesn’t it make you sick when people ask why you have such big dreams? For me, it motivates me more! Women have ambitions of all shapes and sizes and tackle them differently, but don’t mistake this for someone rude or bitchy.
