Summer is my favorite time of year! I’m always on the lookout for fun things to do in Columbus. I’ll share three recent fun experiences with you.
1. Capa Summer Movie Series
Love classic movies? Also love beautiful, historic theaters? The Ohio Theater has the longest running classic film series in America, according to their site. The picture above was taken the night I had a surprise outing to see Back to the Future. I’m sad to admit, I hadn’t seen it before. I’m also sad it’s considered a classic now haha!Ā
Whether you’re looking to go on a date night, or have a fun night out with the family, they have movies for everyone! They serve popcorn, snack mixes, candy, alcohol, pop and water.
The also have a live organ player before, during intermission and after each show. The organ is an original (and extremely beautiful) piece from when the Ohio Theater first opened. Overall, the experience was super fun and the atmosphere was incredible!
The Ohio Theater has their summer schedule of movies listed here.
2. The Dublin Market at Bridge Park
Have you been to the incredible Bridge Park in Dublin, Ohio yet? It has all the best restaurants, bars, coffee shops and retail spots. It’s the best new place to visit around Columbus!
If you’re not there to dine or grab a drink, there is a market setup from May – September, 9-12pm on Saturdays. Everyone brings their dogs, kids and even pet pigs! It’s a super fun and family friendly Saturday morning activity.Ā
Vendors set up tents and sell local produce, retail items and other types of foods and products. Their site has a map of where they setup ever summer Saturday.
3. Stroll around Grandview
It might sound basic, but walking around Grandview is so relaxing. There are tons of restaurants, coffee shops, retail spots and even a cute little movie theater at the heart.
Stauf’s is one of my favorite locations. Everyone has heard of or been there at least once! Stauf’s just opened another location downtown near Columbus State that has a modern, yet sophisticated touch with an open concept.Ā
One of my favorite restaurants to have brunch or dinner at is Third and Hollywood. It’s tucked around the corner from the main Grandview strip. It’s elegant, modern and edgy all at once. They have amazing food and live jazz music on Sundays for brunch!
