Are you a workaholic? A busy mom? Never have time to keep your wardrobe up to date? Can’t stand shopping? What if I told you that you didn’t have to? You could receive it all right to your doorstep with Stitch Fix? What if I also told you that you didn’t have to spend hours shopping online and can set your own budget and frequency?
Well – you CAN have it all! Stitch Fix is an online company full of personal stylists that curate a variety of pieces JUST FOR YOU. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping but I am a busy lady so I decided to give it a try.
Initially, I was super skeptical of a stylist that I had never met, that didn’t know my style from the next person. Then, I created an account and the magic began!
The Stitch Fix deets
Stitch Fix starts by having their customer fill out an in depth personal style and measurement questionnaire. It asks questions about your size, typical style, where you shop and what you’re looking for. It was quick and easy to fill out – and fun if you ask me. Stitch Fix shows you several pictures of outfits or pieces and asks if you’d wear them. Once you’ve filled out the information, it asks for your budget and how frequently you’d like a Stitch Fix.
Then the excitement takes place! A $20 styling fee is due up front but will then be applied towards your purchase once you receive and decide what you like. They send you five pieces – anything from handbags, accessories, shoes and clothing. You have the option to choose “extras” as well (socks, nylons, bras, panties, etc).
I received my first Stitch Fix package last night! It arrived within less than a week and two days sooner than expected! I received a pair of earrings, skinny jeans, two tops and a cute little romper. I don’t know about you but I’m always scouring reviews or any info I can find when making a new purchase so I thought I’d share my experience with you.
The Stitch Fix goods
1 – Kaileigh Kudrow Off the Shoulder Romper ($54, size S)
I love this one! Let me tell you – I have never worn, nor felt comfortable in a romper after many years of searching for “the one”. I put this baby on and BAM! Instant success. This one’s a keeper!
2 – Romolo Millie Metal Drop Earrings ($28)
I love dangly earrings but these were a dull shine and looked unfinished to me. They weren’t my least favorite pair of earrings I’ve ever seen but they weren’t my favorite, so I chose to send them back.
3 – Liverpool Nik Skinny Jean ($78, size 26 aka 2)
Hello aqua! I have to be honest, my first reaction was WOW! I would never wear pants that color. Now that I’ve sent them back, I sort of want them back. Oops. I absolutely loved the feel and fit of these babies. They were a soft texture too! What are your thoughts on bright colored pants? Leave them in the comments, I’m super curious if I am just too afraid to wear such bold colors.
4 – Goldray Eisla Zipper Detail Knit Top
I love anything with a pop of accent here or there. This top is soooo soft and has the cutest zipper that cinches the waist. It’s one of the most comfortable shirts I’ve worn. It will work perfect for a night out or dressed up at work. Keeper!
5 – Daniel Rainn Saharey Tassel Knit Top
This top was one part sexy and one part dull. The top black section had little holes to expose skin and was low cut where it tied. The bottom half is honestly why I decided to return it. It had a yellow, white and purple flowered pattern. It was super comfy, regardless of style.
Sealing the Stitch Fix Deal
Upon deciding which items I chose to keep and return I logged back into my Stitch Fix account and filled out a brief questionnaire for returns and the items I kept. You can choose to skip this part but every bit of feedback you provide Stitch Fix helps your stylist learn more about you and provide better options! There’s also this fun little thumbs up/thumbs down rating systems that has you choose styles based on pictures each day to help your stylist. It’s honestly so fun, I login every day and rate items!
The last part of the process is to seal the items you want to return in a return bag they provide free of charge and pay for the items you decide to keep. If you keep all five items you get a 25% discount on the total (hello)!
If you’d like to see the products in real time head over to the Boss Gal Instagram and watch my story. I show and describe everything that came in the package as well as a walk through of the items you see pictured here. Don’t forget to follow Boss Gal while you’re there!
