Opportunity Looks a lot Like Hard Work
Opportunity in dreams
Have you ever had a dream or opportunity but weren’t sure where to start? You just knew you were capable of achieving it but weren’t quite sure how to get there? Had an opportunity come your way that you couldn’t pass up? Opportunity looks a lot like hard work and you make your own luck. Keep reading, you’ll want to hear this if you have dreams.
When opportunity comes knocking
Have you ever worked along side of someone or had a friend or family member that always seemed to get ahead? You felt like they really had it together and wondered how you could live a similar life? Do you think to yourself “man they’re lucky! I wish I was that lucky!” If you find yourself here start evaluating how you go about your life. Do you work hard? Do you take the time to do an extra assignment? Are you putting yourself out there for opportunities? What if you’re a blogger, do you post regularly? Trying to create a social presence online? Are you posting original and high quality content frequently? Opportunities appear when you put yourself out there and work hard to receive them. Accompany working hard with persistence and you’ve hit a home run.
Make your own luck
Let’s play a game. Pick your favorite celebrity. Got them in mind? Think about what makes them who they are and why they are the way they are. What types of roles have they had? What types of interviews have they given? Chances are, you won’t find one that doesn’t talk about how they didn’t work their ass off to get to where they are today. A few years ago I heard someone tell me getting a job is about who you know, how hard you work and a little bit of luck. A lot of people assume others land jobs because they are lucky. WRONG – it’s because they work their asses off! Opportunity rolls around because people recognize hard work. Every time someone tells me how lucky I am I say “I’m not lucky, I worked hard!”
I love it, there is nothing more rewarding than hard work no matter what your job is, whether you work in an office or stay home with children.
In summary
So – when you have a dream or are looking for opportunities remember, hard work always plays a role. I wouldn’t have had two blogs with a following by now if I hadn’t worked every single day on them. That work can look differently every day, as long as you’re putting the time in.
