How to get unstuck
How do you get unstuck when starting over? Maybe you’re not even sure you’re stuck, but you know you’re looking for answers. It’s also possible you’re not starting over, you’re just stuck and unsure of your next move in what you’re trying to accomplish. Whatever it is, I’m going to give you some tips to gain clarity and get unstuck.
1. Wake up an hour earlier
Yes, I have mentioned this before, but it is so important for anyone looking to get unstuck and achieve their goals.
Set your alarm clock for an hour earlier so you can set aside time to plan your day. Start by making a list of things you want to accomplish that day.
Here’s some guidance when making that list:
- If it doesn’t contribute to getting you closer to achieving your goals, don’t add it to the list
- If it’s something you don’t necessarily need to do but want to add it to the list because it’ll be easy to check off, don’t add it to the list. It will only create busy work for you and take precious time away from achieving your goals
- Don’t put more than 3-5 things on your list, you’re just asking for trouble and the inability to remain focused
If you wake up an hour earlier and create your list, you’ll be ready to dive in by the time you normally wake up and have a whole extra hour to work towards your goals…aka you’ll move yourself closer to achievement!
2. Complete a goal setting exercise
You mean do some work? YES! I can’t tell you how helpful it is to be able to write your thoughts down on paper. Not only will you gain clarity, but the act of writing it down will help your brain focus harder on the goal.
I have a FREE “Unleash your dreams today – 21 questions to extraordinary goal setting” workbook you can have! All you have to do is subscribe to my newsletter at the link at the bottom of this page and I will send you one right away!
Be as specific as you can when answering the questions. To get unstuck, you’ll need to drill down to the details as much as possible.
3. Find someone that’s already gotten unstuck and achieved what you’re trying to
This is super important if you’re feeling stuck! Or even if you’re not. Find someone you can connect with or follow that’s already achieved what you want to.
This doesn’t have to be someone you can talk to on a regular basis. Mine is a combination of people like Jordan Lee Dooley, Erin Falconer and Rachel Hollis. They are the ultimate inspiration for me in achieving my dreams.
Through their books, blogs and podcasts they have given me step by step tools to get unstuck and understand how to go after what I want and need to accomplish my goals.
I recommend reading their books:
- Own Your Everyday: Jordan Lee Dooley
- How to get Sh*t Done: Erin Falconer
- Girl Stop Apologizing and Girl Wash Your Face: Rachel Hollis
4.Ā Coaching
Coaching is also a great way to get unstuck. We could all use a little help from time to time no matter who we are.
I offer 1:1 coaching based off of a personalized formula of “be you, break free and break through” depending on where you are at in your journey.
I’ve coached and led many women over the years in their careers and personal life.
Sometimes we just need that extra boost or to be able to talk out loud to someone else for help. I’m here for you, get in touch so we can get to know each other!
