You know those weekends where you somehow miraculously have limited to no plans? You start to wonder what you’ll do or how to reset and clear your mind if you’re anything like me! I’m going to share 4 ways to create more space and get organized this weekend!
Get organized, clean out your closet
One of my favorite things to do is clean out my closet. Sure, it may sound arduous, but I promise it will make you feel SO GOOD when you’re done! I’ll be the first to admit I have found clothes from when I was 16 years old in my closet…because I couldn’t let go.
Start in one corner and work your way down. Donate or find a local sell it again store and make some money! I usually take my clothes to Clothes Mentor for some on the spot cash. I’ll walk you through how to clean out your closet here, let’s do it together!
Clean out your car
I know, I know, most people probably dread doing this but think of it this way; your car is like a second home – get organized! You spend a ton of time in it taking you place to place.
Do you ever get that super happy, I just walked into a clean house, feeling? Think about the time you spend in the car. I love getting into a freshly vacuumed and cleaned car. I do it myself at home and that adds to the feeling! Nothing like cranking your favorite music to sing along to while getting rid of the dirt.
Get organized in your kitchen
You know that cabinet that has 1,083 spices that have been sitting around for a few years? WHY?! Why do you have it? I ask myself this every time I cook, until now!
What about the cabinet that contains 43 pieces of mixed Tupperware that flies out and punches you in the face every time you open it? Why? For what? I know you know what I’m talking about!
Listen, we all love a good shopping trip to Target where we go in for one thing and walk out with 59 new useless things that will probably end up SITTING for a year. Once a year make it a goal to clean out old pots, pans, cups, Tupperware, etc from your kitchen!
Clean out old makeup
Ahhh. Sigh, I love doing this! As a girly girl, I appreciate the ability to have my makeup organized and in one place where I can find it all.
I am guilty of having YEARS old makeup sitting in a makeup box under the counter from time to time. I love going through it and ditching the old products.
Your makeup has a shelf life so don’t hang onto things you don’t use – you CAN’T use them! I don’t know about you but I don’t like having to sift through a ton of makeup to find what I need anyway, ESPECIALLY when I’m in a hurry to get my makeup done!
