If you’re someone that is regularly seeking tips on how to pursue your dream job, look no further. You’ve probably read tons of self help books, or are sick of broken promises that online courses teach. You may have even fallen into the “spending money and seeing no return on building your dreams by some cheesy training” trap.
It’s ok. It happens to all of us entrepreneurial types once or twice…or a few more times. You’re not alone! I’ve finally found a book that has cut through the crap and told the story like it really is to live your dream! Let’s begin…
Yes! You’ve finally figured out your dream role in this life!
Now what? I know, it can be so overwhelming. You don’t know where to start, who to talk to, or who will even believe you’re not completely insane for wanting to live your dream. If you’re in this stage, you MUST read “You Are a Badass” by Jen Sincero. It is a God send! Jen is absolutely wonderful and gives it to you straight. There are no hidden tricks, these are all steps, tasks and plans each of us can do/make.
Fear is a loser
A lot of this book has to do with fear. And how it’s a load of crap. Jen describes how fear limits us in so many ways. It’s one of our biggest limiting factors. Fear is based on our past. Anytime we feel it, it’s because of something that has occurred in the past. It’s not because of something happening in the moment.
She gives you techniques on how to deal with fear when you feel it within you. It’s really eye opening. I’ve found it helpful so many times since I’ve read the book. Most people don’t live out their dream because they are basing their beliefs all on fear!
Dreams come true for those who believe
I know, sounds Disney-ish right? Well, Disney has a point, and so does Jen. Think about every job you’ve had. Or every hard thing you’ve accomplished in life up to this point. If you hadn’t believed you were capable of doing something, you wouldn’t have made it this far.
The first step is believing you are capable of achieving your dreams. Even if no one has ever done what you are setting out to do before.
