Are you Training Yourself in the Right Places to Tackle Your Dream?
So, you’re ready to go after your dream life. Are you training yourself in the right places to tackle your dream? Building a dream looks a lot like hard work, don’t put the work into the places that will not get you to your dream life.
What do you mean training?
When people hear the word training they often think working out at the gym or training on the job. Training is in fact applicable to anything you are attempting to do.
Think about it, when you were a baby you didn’t just get up and start walking one day. You probably started by crawling, then pulling yourself up on a table, then standing on your own, then taking a step.
You have to train yourself no matter what field or industry that you’re in, especially if it’s building your own dream by yourself.
Focus
Let’s look at your dream. Think about it. In one sentence, describe what your dream is. Now in one sentence describe what your life would look like if that dream were to come true.
Are you doing the things today that you need to be to get you to that dream?
You could hire all the trainers in the world, but it’s your dream and to make it happen, you’re going to have to focus on it.
Pull out a notebook and write down A list of things you believe you should be doing every single day to get closer to your dream. Now analyze that list. Do all of these impact building your dream in a positive way? If not delete them and narrow down your list.
The more you can focus on specific tasks that will build your dream day by day in the more persistence you have with these tasks the closer and faster you will get to building your dream.
Time and energy spent
Now that i’ve given you tips on how to focus, let’s analyze how you’re spending your time and energy.
We all have the same 24 hours in the day as Beyoncé does. That’s one of my favorite quotes.
Are you doing things that drain your energy? Think about it, the more you do things that drain your energy or create negative energy, the slower it will take you to build your dream.
Start tracking what you do each day and after a week analyze the list from each day and see if it is good energy or bad energy. Then from there take the items that are good energy and see if they are working towards your dream.
We all need time to rest so make sure you are including that in your day to day, but analyze for items that are not serving you.
How bad do you really want this?
Think about all the things that you put your mind to that you go out and spend money on. If there is something that you’ve been obsessing over, you will find every way to come up with the money to get it.
How many times have you gotten food because you felt too lazy to cook? How many times have you gone out and bought new clothes because you didn’t feel like picking out outfits from your closet?
Whatever the case may be, look at your habits and focus on how bad you really want this. If you want it bad enough you’ll find other ways to make it happen. It’s not about instant gratification but about the impact you have on others in the long term.
