Hitting the Reset Button
Whether we like to admit it or not, we all go through things in life that cause the need for hitting the reset button. Sometimes the best thing to do is sit back and let your mind at ease.
The holidays are rapidly approaching and I encourage each of you to take some time off and think about how you can start next year fresh.
Laugh
Think about the last time you had a day or night where you laughed so hard your face hurt. Felt good, didn’t it? Laughter is overall good for your immune system, it can boost it!
Whether you’re calling a few friends to get together, going to see a local comedy show or watching a funny movie work those laughter muscles and let go! It’s great for hitting the reset button.
Get outside
‘Tis the season for the weather to change if you live in a climate that has seasons. Even if the weather isn’t getting colder in your region – all the more reason to get outside for a reset!
Go for a walk or hike, swim, explore nature trails, go for a bike ride or wear rollerblades! I personally love sitting outside to work if the weather permits it!
Rock out while hitting the reset button
I regularly spend time dancing around my house for no reason at all. I also do it when I clean my house. Who doesn’t love their favorite music playing in the background?
Find time in your day to listen to music throughout it. Whether you’re walking into work and can put headphones in, taking a gym break or lunch break – crank that music to start hitting the reset button.
Pick up a book
But not just any book! Find an inspirational book at your local library, or off Amazon. Heck, you can even grab an audio book and listen! The amount of motivation and productivity boosts I’ve gained from reading books throughout the year truly keeps me going! A few of the latest I’ve read are Feminist Fight Club by Jessica Bennett (it’s uncensored and hilariously on point) and Lean In: Woman, Work and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook.
